What is the difference between a SIM card and an eSIM?
A physical SIM card is a removable card that you insert into your device.
An eSIM is a digital SIM that is built directly into your device and cannot be removed. Instead of swapping physical SIM cards when changing mobile operators, you simply activate a new eSIM digitally. A physical SIM can only be connected to one mobile operator at a time, while an eSIM can store multiple operator profiles, making it much more flexible.
Although physical SIM cards are still widely used, eSIMs are becoming increasingly popular because they offer greater convenience—especially for international travelers who want to switch networks without replacing their SIM card.
