What is network lock?

Network lock or carrier lock is a restriction that limits mobile devices to specific countries or networks. You can check if your device's network is locked or not by following this instruction:


Check Network Lock on iOS device


  1. Go to Settings
  2. Then General
  3. Tap on About
  4. If your carrier lock says No SIM restrictions that means your device's network is unlocked, but if it says eSIM, that means your network is locked.



Check Network Lock on Android device

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Tap on SIM Card & Mobile Network
  3. Click Mobile Networks
  4. Turn off the automatically select network
  5. If it only show 1 network that means your device has the network locked, but if it more, then your network is unlocked.



You can contact your phone carrier to adjust this setting.
